By request– discussion how our immigrant ancestors became citizens: the laws, the process, and the records.
If time permits, we’ll talk about passenger lists, where to locate them, and what they might reveal.

The Norwegian Interest Group will meet on Tuesday, 24 January 2012 at the IGS Library.
For those of you who unaware, there are currently over 6,000 transcribed records on the Digitalarkivet. Besides census records, there are birth, marriage, death, emigration, land ownership, etc. transcriptions for several counties.
The Iowa Legacy Users Group will meet on Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the IGS Library, 628 East Grand Avenue, Des Moines. The focus will be on using digital images in Legacy. Everyone is encouraged to bring their laptops for hands-on practice. Free.
