Ancestral Memorial Wall

Honor your ancestor by making them a part of Iowa history.

The Ancestor Memorial Wall project of the Iowa Genealogical Society (IGS), a collection of entries and memorabilia, will be preserved for future genearations.

Examples of submitted memorabilia:

  • Handwriting sample
  • Copy of writing or art work
  • Copy of birth or death certificate, military discharge or diploma
  • CD/DVD of the person or persons in action and/or talking (no video or cassette tapes)
  • Copies of newspaper clippings (dates and sources cited)
  • An essay and/or timeline describing the person's life
  • Copies of photographs

All copyrighted material should include the publication date, source citation and copyright release.

Listed below are all the names submitted to the society for placement on the wall.
